Out in line, sent forward to race prominently on the outside, peaked on run 450M, weakened early in straight. (A laceration to the right hock.)

Out with rest, raced towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened inside final furlong.

Near the 750 Metres became unbalanced when crowded by NEW FOREST (L Hewitson) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. L Hewitson was reprimanded and advised that he should have made an effort sooner to relieve the tightening to SOLID SHALAA. In assessing the incident the Stewards also took into consideration that NEW FOREST shifted in and away from BLAZING WIND. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SOLID SHALAA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Bumped on jumping, raced at tail, 8 lengths or so back turning in, made some progress early in straight, no clear run final 100M, eased close home.

After the event H Bowman stated that after settling towards the back of the field he was unable to proceed forward between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres when held up behind SOLID SHALAA which shifted out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Away with them, raced slightly behind midfield on outer, 7 lengths or so back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
