After the event M F Poon reported that his mount resented the kickback from the leader SPICY SPANGLE and, in his opinion, this was the reason for the horse failing to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily outside the lead in the early stages but gave ground noticeably over the concluding stages and he could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ROBOT KNIGHT was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, ROBOT KNIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
