Crowded shortly after start losing ground, soon recovered to 9th towards rear on rail, forced to steady when pace slackened onto first turn, made no impression in the run to the line.
Taken back from gate 9, raced 3 wide with cover towards rear, moved a bit closer on turn, finished off evenly.
Jumped only fairly, settled at the rear early, moved closer to midfield passing 800M, held up 400M to 300M before closing off fairly. No threat to leaders.
Average to begin, raced 2 wide in midfield, similar position on turn, made minor progress in straight.

TORONADO, a son of HIGH CHAPARRAL and the former Al Shaqab Racing runner, with a record of 6 wins and 3 seconds in 12 starts while Richard Hughes as his regular jockey, winning distance from 1300M to 1600M. He remained unbeaten when he was 2 until being ran down by DAWN APPROACH in 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes under the care of Richard Hannon Sr., but he fought back in Sussex Stakes afterwards. He landed Queen Anne Stakes for trainer Richard Hannon as a 5YO. After that, he made his move to Breeders' Cup Mile but failed. He entered stud in 2015, 51 runners of him won the black type contests, HK representatives found The Centenary Sprint Cup winner VICTOR THE WINNER and two Hong Kong Classic Mile winners HELIOS EXPRESS and LITTLE PARADISE. His service fee in 2026 is AUD$ 88,000. LOVELY MILES was purchased by trainer Ricky Yiu at AUD$ 260,000 as a yearling and train by Bjorn Baker in Australia. Same sire runners in HK ran on well including same sire stablemate BLAZING WUKONG won on his debut last season. His dam FOREVER THE CHILL won at 1100M and four of her winning foals won at 1300M or under in distance. Family member THE BIG CHILL was 2nd runner up in G1 Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley. The bay gelding should be a precocious sprinter and no issue at Happy Valley.
