Slow to being, sat worse than midfield on the rail, angled out rounding the Home Turn, closed off well, won going away.
In rear after slow start, steadied off heels on occasions, good headway up rail home straight, improving to chase leaders when running out of room closing stages.
Prominent, keen early, pushed along 400m out to chase leaders, looked like winner 300m out but weakened final 50m.
Bumped shortly after start, raced 3 wide, a length or so back, 2 wide from 800M, same margin back on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)
Made contact at start, positioned 3-1/2L behind the leader on rail, saved ground throughout, kept on well in straight to take 2nd, no threat to the winner.
Bumped start, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length at 400M, peaked and headed 250M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

STARSPANGLEDBANNER was trained by Leon Corstens in Australia, and landed G1 Caulfield Guineas and Oakleigh Plate with Daniel Nikolic on board. He was purchased by Coolmore and under Aidan O'Brien’s handling afterwards. After settled in Ireland, STARSPANGLEDBANNER claimed Golden Jubilee Stakes and July Cup with Johnny Murtagh in the saddle and made him became a champion sprinter in both European and Australia. He joined the Coolmore’s stallion roster after retirement but he was sent to second tier stud farm due to his low pregnancy rate. However, his next generations brought some surprise to Coolmore with victories among Royal Ascot races and STARSPANGLEDBANNER made his return. As of now, 59 runners won the black type contests including four-time G1 winner STATE OF REST. CALIFORNIA SPANGLE and BEAUTY ETERNAL are his representatives in HK. His service fee is EUR€ 45,000 in 2025. JUMBO BLESSING was purchased by George Moore bloodstock at AUD$ 425,000 as a yearling. Full-brother CITY THUNDER collected 1 second and 2 third in 9 HK starts up to written date, half-brother found former HK runner RED MAVERICK with 1 second and 1 third in 18 starts while PLATINUM PANTHEON won over 1200M in New Zealand and former HK runner SUPREME CLASS is second dam family member. The son of STARSPANGLEDBANNER should be a precocious runner that most effective from 1200M to 1600M.
