Began smartly, raced in 2nd, travelled well to turn, took the lead early in straight, kept on well to the line and scored.

K Teetan pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 800 Metres (see DOUBLE BINGO). Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped well from gate 10, raced slightly behind midfield on outer, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made very good progress in straight to take 2nd, nearest finish.

K Teetan (SPEEDY SMARTIE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he directed his mount out across the heels of NOTTHESILLYONE, resulting in BRILLIANT FIRE being hampered and taken wider and causing DOUBLE BINGO to be checked. K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 12 October 2025 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. Lay out on the Home Turn. Sent for sampling post-race.

Average to begin, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, challenged by rival early in straight, headed 300M, kept on well, lost 2nd close home.

Taken back to race at rear, 6 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame, no threat to the first few. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event C L Chau reported that he was given no specific instructions where to settle, however, he was advised he should ensure that his mount obtained cover.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line.

Made contact shortly after start, raced 3 wide with cover slightly behind midfield, similar position on turn, made no impression in straight.

Shortly after the start made contact with FALCON COURT due to both runners shifting ground. A short distance later LEGEND STAR then became unbalanced when crowded between FALCON COURT and EURO ROCKS which shifted in slightly. Between the 300 Metres and the 100 Metres was badly held up for clear running behind CHEER FOR SOUTH.

Out in line, raced 2 wide in midfield, there to turn, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event A Atzeni reported that his mount, which was racing first up today, finished the race off satisfactorily and, in his opinion, would derive a fitness benefit from today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted out at start, unable to slot in, raced slightly better than midfield on outer, 3 lengths back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

At declaration time, A Atzeni was declared as the rider of both SUNNY DARLING and CHEER FOR SOUTH. It was established that A Atzeni had been inadvertently declared as the rider of SUNNY DARLING when in fact B Avdulla had been engaged to ride that horse. For this declaration error, Trainer P C Ng was fined $2,000. After the event B Avdulla stated that his mount did not show sufficient pace to cross runners in the early stages and as a consequence raced wide and without cover for the majority of the race before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have blood at the right nostril. An endoscopic examination conducted on SUNNY DARLING found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the blood in the nostril was determined to be not coming from the lungs and as such the horse was deemed not to have bled.

Shifted out at start, showed no speed, raced at rear on outer, 6 to 7 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Made contact shortly after start, raced 2 wide towards rear, found rail near 500M, 7 lengths back turning in, failed to make any progress in straight. (Roarer.)

Shortly after the start made contact with LEGEND STAR due to both runners shifting ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Away with them, raced slightly better than midfield, 3 wide, hampered near 800M, 2 to 3 lengths back turning in, weakened early in straight, eased thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 800 Metres was hampered when taken wider. After the event H Bowman stated that his mount gave ground in the Home Straight, particularly over the final 200 Metres and he felt that the horse may have been galloped on during the running of the race by another runner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
