Jumped with rest, positioned 2 wide, 2 lengths or so back, there to turn, showed some response early in straight, peaked on run 150M, kept on same pace to the line.

Began only fairly. K De Melo was reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped start, sent forward to race prominently, took the lead near 900M, travelled well to turn, hard ridden near 300M, peaked and headed 150M, weakened gradually close home. (See Racing Incidents.)

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Jumped well from a wide draw, raced 3 wide with cover slightly behind midfield, 2 lengths or so back turning in, closed off well to take a place.

Passing the 100 Metres was eased to avoid THE HEIR (C Y Ho) which shifted in. C Y Ho was advised to exercise more care. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. M F Poon was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on two occasions in the Home Straight.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced towards rear on the outside, very wide into straight, finished off very strongly to score. (A small laceration to the right front cannon.)

Shifted in at the start and bumped YIU CHEUNG VICTORY. After the event L Ferraris stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position. He said he was able to cross to race outside DO YOUR PART in the early stages but in the Home Straight his mount did not finish the race off which he attributed to the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time. Trainer D A Hayes confirmed that he had given Jockey Ferraris the option of holding an on-pace position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LUCKY MAN was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY MAN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped awkwardly, positioned 2 wide slightly behind midfield, 3 lengths back turning in, no clear run early in straight, made good progress final 200M to make frame.

Near the 300 Metres, when commencing to give ground, was steadied to avoid SIGHT DREAMER (A Atzeni) which shifted out to improve. A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care. After the event Z Purton stated that his mount raced greenly due to inexperience and was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong.

Jumped only fairly. After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount failed to travel throughout the race and when he became concerned with its action making the Home Turn he eased it down from the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of CASA RUBICK, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CASA RUBICK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
