When questioned Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to endeavour to lead the event. She said on jumping PATCH OF WATCH bounded and lost ground after which she then commenced to ride the horse along. She said when she identified FUN N FUN TOGETHER racing in advance of her, she elected to continue to ride her mount forward to follow that runner as she was aware that FUN N FUN TOGETHER is a horse that can race in an on-pace position. She added that after improving behind FUN N FUN TOGETHER near the 900 Metres, that runner continued forward and crossed ROBOT KNIGHT which then resulted in PATCH OF WATCH racing wide and without cover from the 800 Metres. She said PATCH OF WATCH throughout the event hung in and also raced keenly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, ROBOT KNIGHT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
