From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Leaving the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of KING OF FIGHTERS to continue into clear running.

Slow to begin. Approaching the 600 Metres was steadied when disappointed for running between FAST SPEED and A AMERIC TE SPECSO which shifted out. After the event A Badel stated that his mount settled back in the field and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight which he attributed to the middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly from gate 1, raced behind midfield on the inside, 5 to 6 lengths back, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened 150M, eased final 100M.

Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Near the 1500 Metres was briefly tightened by WUKONG JEWELLERY which was taken in by DEFINITIVE. After the event H Bentley stated that when the pace steadied in the middle stages his mount commenced to race keenly and as a result he elected to make a forward move from the 800 Metres. He said EXCELLENCE VALUE was unable to cross runners to his inside and as a result raced wide and without cover thereafter before its run ended near the 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off strongly, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Bumped start, raced in midfield on the inside, angled out approaching 400M, 4 lengths back turning in, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 50M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner close home.

After the event Z Purton stated that the intention was to hold an on-pace position. He said his mount travelled satisfactorily during the race but came under pressure when EXCELLENCE VALUE improved to his outside near the 600 Metres after which KING OF FIGHTERS did not finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of KING OF FIGHTERS was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, KING OF FIGHTERS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
