Began well, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off strongly, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was bumped by COLONEL which shifted in. Over the concluding stages lay in under pressure and proved difficult to ride out. Sent for sampling post-race.

Crowded start, raced at tail, 8 lengths or so back, moved closer after passing 600M, 5 lengths back turning in, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line.

Jumped with them, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 100M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Over the concluding stages raced tight between REWARDING TWINKLE and VICTOR THE RAPID which shifted in. Sent for sampling post-race.

Taken back from gate 9, raced 2 wide towards rear, 6 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, made minor progress early in straight, peaked 100M, weakened and eased thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped at the start. After the event J Orman reported that he expected to take up a midfield position but when LOVEISINTHEAIR commenced well he was able to hold a position behind the lead without being pressured to do so.

Bumped start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 5 lengths back, 3 wide from 450M, finished off evenly.

Jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with LOVEISINTHEAIR. For some distance after the 600 Metres lay out when racing tight to the inside of ISLAND BUDDY.

Bumped start, raced in midfield on the inside, angled out approaching 400M, 4 lengths back turning in, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 50M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner close home.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Held up making the Home Turn.

Began only fairly from gate 1, raced behind midfield on the inside, 5 to 6 lengths back, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened 150M, eased final 100M.

After the event L Ferraris stated that he recommended the addition of visors for tonight’s run after the horse lacked concentration at its previous race start on 7 May 2025. He said, in his opinion, SMART FIGHTER did not appreciate racing with visors and he recommended them to be removed for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back to race at rear on the inside, 7 lengths or so back, last turning in, made good progress in straight to be nearest on line.

After the event A Badel stated that with the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time LEGEND STAR found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight from back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Average to begin, raced in midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back, very wide turning in, finished off very strongly, led close home.

After the event C L Chau reported that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and this was the reason for the horse giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ISLAND BUDDY was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND BUDDY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
