From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 800 Metres was briefly crowded by CIRCUIT DUFFY which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Sent for sampling post-race.

Leaving the 200 Metres raced tight to the inside of ISLAND BUDDY. Again near the 50 Metres was steadied when racing tight to the inside of ISLAND BUDDY (A Atzeni) which shifted in. As a result VULCANUS could not be ridden out to the finish of the event. A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care.

Began well, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader on rail, saved ground on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final 100M.

Near the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid VULCANUS. Near the 150 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of TEAM HAPPY to continue into clear running. After the event K C Leung reported that the instructions were to hold a midfield position. He said when his mount jumped only fairly he elected to shift it across behind runners in the early stages to avoid covering additional ground.

Began only fairly, raced in midfield on the inside, angled out 350M, kept on well in straight to make frame without threatening.

Near the 800 Metres was steadied when crowded by FLYING AKEED (M L Yeung) which shifted in when not clear. M L Yeung was reprimanded. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Crowded start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 5 lengths back, angled out 400M, slightly short of room early in straight, kept on same pace to the line.

Jumped only fairly. Approaching the 300 Metres was bumped by GOKO WIN which shifted out to improve. After the event K Teetan reported that his mount over-raced throughout the early and middle stages of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the outside, 6 to 7 lengths back on turn, failed to make any progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid TEAM HAPPY (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in when not quite clear. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. After the event M F Poon stated that the intention was to hold an on-pace position but despite riding his mount along in the early stages it did not show sufficient pace to do so.

Jumped with them, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, travelled keenly in the early stages, a length back on turn, showed good response in straight, took the lead approaching 150M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner close home.
