From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For some distance near the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running between CARRYON SMILING and GALLANT EPOCH and made contact with GALLANT EPOCH when obtaining a narrow run. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was then crowded by POCHETTINO which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Lay in over the final 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Slow to begin. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of the horse. Making the Home Turn and in the Home Straight lay out. Approaching the 50 Metres was shifted to the outside of CARRYON SMILING to continue into clear running.

Average to begin, raced in midfield, hard ridden after passing 350M and made minor progress, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Approaching the 800 Metres was checked to avoid POCHETTINO and as a result was shifted out away from that runner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Crowded at the start. After the event M F Poon stated that the intention was to find cover. He said in the early stages when GALLANT EPOCH did not continue forward he was left racing without cover and unsuited by having GALLANT EPOCH race to his outside. He said as a result HAPPY UNIVERSE did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid BEAU CADEAU when that runner was eased to allow GALLANT EPOCH to cross.

Shifted in at start and made contact, raced in 3rd, 2 lengths back at 400M, peaked 250M, weakened inside final furlong.

Near the 300 Metres was contacted by FORTUNE BOY. After the event H Bowman stated that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to take up a forward position from his wide barrier. He said when unable to cross runners to his inside GALLANT EPOCH raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GALLANT EPOCH was considered disappointing as compared to its last start. Before being allowed to race again, GALLANT EPOCH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Crowded at the start. After the 800 Metres MUSANG KING improved to the inside of ETALON OR when that runner was taken wider. ETALON OR (A Badel) then shifted back in to resume his position when not clear of MUSANG KING, resulting in MUSANG KING having to be checked. A Badel was reprimanded and advised he must ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground to resume his position.
