Began smartly from the widest draw, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two final 50M.

Near the 250 Metres was disappointed for clear running between NOBLE PURSUIT and EMBRACES which shifted in. FORTUNATE SON was then shifted to the inside of LOVERO to obtain clear running approaching the 200 Metres.

Shifted out at start and bumped, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, failed to close off in straight. (Blood in trachea.)

After the event, Y L Chung stated that he could offer no explanation for his mount’s failure to finish the race off strongly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Crowded on jumping, taken back to race 2 wide at rear, 8 lengths back turning in, taken wide in straight and made good progress to be nearest on line. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly. After the event, L Ferraris stated that from an inside barrier he was instructed to hold an on-pace position to take advantage of his favourable barrier draw.

Made contact shortly after start, positioned 2 wide better than midfield, 2-1/2L back turning in, finished off evenly.

After the event, K C Leung stated that from a wide barrier he was requested to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. He added that after settling back in the field LEAN HERO was unable to make up ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped with them, raced in midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back turning in, finished off very strongly to score.

After the event, M F Poon stated that with his mount stepping up in distance and drawn well, he was asked to hold an on-pace position, similar to the manner in which the horse barrier trialed on 8 April 2025. He said when SMART TRIO commenced well and showed good pace in the early stages he was able to lead without being pressured to do so.

Began well, taken back to race behind midfield on the inside, 5 lengths back on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked on run 100M, weakened gradually thereafter. (Jockey dropped whip 100M.)

Sustained a minor laceration to its left front leg whilst being transported to the course, examined and passed suitable to race. Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and lost ground.
