Jumped with them, raced in midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back turning in, finished off very strongly to score.

Was fractious whilst being transported to the course. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. For some distance shortly after the start made contact with DIAMOND SOARS. Sent for sampling post-race.

Average to begin, raced behind midfield, 6 lengths back turning in, made very good progress in straight to take 2nd, nearest on line.

Began smartly from the widest draw, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two final 50M.

L Ferraris pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 100 Metres (see SPICY SO SMART). Lay out over the final 150 Metres.

Moderately away, raced 2 wide behind midfield, difficult to settle in the early stages, 5 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame.

In the early stages got its head up and raced ungenerously when being shifted in to obtain cover behind DAY DAY VICTORY. PATCH OF WATCH then continued to race ungenerously in the middle stages.

Moderately away from gate 1, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on well in straight but always held.

Jumped only fairly and for some distance shortly after the start raced tight between DAY DAY VICTORY and HAPPY TANGO which shifted out slightly. After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that the instructions were to lead but after being crowded at the start DIAMOND SOARS settled further back than what had been intended. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped well, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, 3/4L back turning in, peaked early in straight, steadied near 100M, ran on evenly to the line.

L Ferraris (ACE TALENT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of SPICY SO SMART, resulting in SPICY SO SMART losing its rightful running and having to be steadied to avoid ACE TALENT. L Ferraris was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 30 April 2025 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.

Crowded on jumping, taken back to race 2 wide at rear, 8 lengths back turning in, taken wide in straight and made good progress to be nearest on line. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping was crowded between SOLAR UP and URBAN TRIUMPH which shifted out. After the event, L Hewitson stated that despite being crowded at the start the instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages from a wide barrier.

Began well, taken back to race behind midfield on the inside, 5 lengths back on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked on run 100M, weakened gradually thereafter. (Jockey dropped whip 100M.)

Near the 100 Metres C L Chau dropped his whip.

Bumped start and unbalanced, raced at rear on the outside, 8 lengths or so back turning in, made no impression in the run home.

On jumping was bumped and became unbalanced when positioned tight to the inside of ACE TALENT.

Shifted out at the start and was bumped. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, URBAN TRIUMPH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
