After the event, M F Poon stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to hold a forward position which resulted in SPANGLE FORTUNE giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the event, Apprentice P N Wong stated that her mount did not show sufficient pace to cross runners to its inside despite her efforts to hold a more forward position. She said due to the effort the horse was obliged to make in the early stages SHANGHAI STYLE was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Average to begin, sent forward to take the lead, travelled comfortably in the middle stages, led by 2 lengths turning in, kicked clear early in straight, ran on strongly to the line and scored.

Near the 1600 Metres was steadied when crowded between SPANGLE FORTUNE and SHANGHAI STYLE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider Apprentice P N Wong. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <27/3/2025 Additional Veterinary Report> LUCKY BANNER, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. LUCKY BANNER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C Fownes this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY BANNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
