Fast into stride, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner on line.

Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 150 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between RED HARE KING and AERIS NOVA and as a result did not obtain clear running until after the 100 Metres.

Taken back to race at rear, 4 lengths or so back turning in, finished off well without threatening.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Average to begin, raced in midfield early, slightly improved after passing 700M, 3/4L back turning in, kept on well in straight to take a place.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, I CAN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Made contact with the left side of its barrier, became unbalanced and lost ground. When questioned regarding his riding rounding the Home Turn and in the Home Straight, A Badel stated that after following I CAN, he elected not to attempt to shift to the outside of that runner making the Home Turn as SIMPLE HEDGE was not travelling well. He said after I CAN shifted out on straightening, he elected to improve to that runner’s inside as he had expected TELECOM FIGHTERS to continue to maintain its position in the lead. He added near the 200 Metres he was disappointed for clear running to the inside of TELECOM FIGHTERS when that runner commenced to give ground quickly and shift in. He said as a result he improved to the outside of TELECOM FIGHTERS but then over the final 200 Metres he could not fully test his mount to the finish when positioned behind I CAN.

Moderately away, raced in 4th, saved ground on turn, angled out early in straight, finished off evenly.

After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily in the lead and after making contact with the running rail near the 350 Metres became unbalanced. He said under pressure in the Home Straight TELECOM FIGHTERS failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of TELECOM FIGHTERS was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM FIGHTERS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
