Stewards' Comments
Made contact at start, raced 2 wide in midfield, angled out after passing 400M, 4 lengths back turning in, made good progress early in straight, peaked 100M, ran on evenly to the line.
Incident Report
Approaching the 1400 Metres made contact with HAPPY DAILY when racing tight to the inside of PERFECTO MOMENTS. Approaching the 700 Metres was momentarily crowded between YOUTH POWER which shifted out slightly and PERFECTO MOMENTS which shifted in. Over the concluding stages brushed with COURIER MAGIC due to both runners shifting ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
Taken back from the widest draw, raced at tail, 8-1/2L back turning in, made some progress in straight.
Incident Report
Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Held up for clear running on the Home Turn. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of HAPPY DAILY. For a short distance after the 200 Metres raced greenly. Near the 100 Metres lay in, resulting in its rider H Doyle having to stop riding and straighten her mount. Sent for sampling post-race.
Broke well, raced in 2nd, 1-1/2L back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final furlong.
Incident Report
Over the concluding stages brushed with THESIS due to both runners shifting ground.
Away well, taken back to race behind midfield on the outside, bumped and unbalanced near 550M, very wide turning in, made good progress in straight.
Incident Report
Bumped approaching the 1400 Metres.
Bumped shortly after start, raced behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 550M, 6 to 7 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight to take a place.
Incident Report
On jumping bumped with YOUTH POWER and became unbalanced.
Taken back from gate 11, raced towards rear on the outside, 7 lengths back turning in, finished off very strongly to take 2nd, nearest finish.
Incident Report
Bumped at the start. Near the 1400 Metres raced in restricted room to the inside of FIREFOOT when that runner was taken in slightly by WAH MAY WAI WAI which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Approaching the 250 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by HIGHLAND RAHY which shifted out when being checked away from WAH MAY WAI WAI.
Began smartly, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/2L turning in, kept on very well in straight and scored.
Incident Report
After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount raced "flat” tonight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Bumped shortly after start, raced in midfield on the outside, no cover from 600M, very wide into straight, finished off evenly.
Incident Report
Jumped only fairly and was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Leaving the 400 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight to the inside of HIGHLAND RAHY. After the event, L Ferraris confirmed that his instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages as SMART FIGHTER was stepping up in distance from the 1200 Metres in order to allow it to run out the 1650 Metres of tonight’s event. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions and the reason why such instructions were issued.
Moderately away from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, dropped towards rear from 500M, 5 lengths or so back turning in, one-paced in the run home. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
After the event, A Badel stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and this was the reason why it did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Began well from a tricky draw, prominent on outer, raced wide and without cover until near 600M, positioned 2 wide, 2 lengths back in the middle stages, kept on evenly in straight.
Incident Report
After the event, L Hewitson stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. He added in the Home Straight he was held up for clear running behind WAH MAY WAI WAI before being checked away from that runner approaching the 250 Metres. He said as a result his mount finished the race off only fairly thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
Began only fairly and made contact, raced 2 wide better than midfield, difficult to settle in the early stages, found rail near 650M, 2-1/2L back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final 150M.
Incident Report
Raced very wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.
Slightly slow out, raced 2 wide towards rear, bumped near 550M, moved a bit closer on turn, finished off evenly.
Incident Report
After the event, M Chadwick stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make too much use of his mount in the early stages to cross to race outside the lead and this was the reason it gave ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
