Incident Report
From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of SMILING COLLECTOR. Sent for sampling post-race.

Crowded start, raced at rear, 7 lengths back, same margin back on turn, made no impression in straight. (Lost right front plate.)

Fast into stride, took the early lead, headed near 900M, allowed rival to cross approaching 750M, sat right behind the leader on turn, not enough room early in straight, ran on evenly thereafter.

Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running. When being shifted to the outside of JOLLY RULER near the 200 Metres made contact with GALE SAGA.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide towards rear, 6 lengths back turning in, made minor progress in straight.

Shifted in abruptly at start, raced prominently, 2 wide, there to turn, showed some response early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Slow to begin. After the event, K De Melo reported that his mount lay out in the Home Straight and as a result he pulled his whip through to his left hand near the 250 Metres.

Jumped well from a wide draw, raced prominently, took the lead near 900M, found rail approaching 750M, led by 1/2L turning in, peaked and headed 300M, weakened final furlong.

Jumped well, raced 2 wide slightly better than midfield, there to turn, finished off well to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Near the 450 Metres was bumped when taken wider by NOBLE FANS which shifted out to improve. Bumped near the 200 Metres.

Began fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off strongly to be nearest on line.

After the event, H T Mo stated that the horse had a tendency of being slow to begin in its recent starts and for this reason sheepskin cheek pieces were added to its gear. He said CIRCUIT MAXIMUS jumped well today and when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to continue forward to avoid covering additional ground. He said as a consequence CIRCUIT MAXIMUS raced in a more forward position than anticipated. Noted to be lame in its right front leg after the race. Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT MAXIMUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Blundered badly shortly after start, raced at rear on the inside, hard ridden from 600M, 6-1/2L back turning in, made minor progress in the run home.

Lay out in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out.

Bumped start, unable to slot in, raced in midfield on the outside, no cover throughout, dropped towards rear 500M, made no progress in straight.

Shifted out near the 450 Metres and was bumped. Near the 250 Metres was steadied when crowded between GALE SAGA (C L Chau) which shifted in slightly and GALVANIC (B Shinn) which shifted out when improving to the outside of JOLLY RULER. C L Chau was advised to exercise more care. B Shinn was severely reprimanded. After the event, B Avdulla could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began smartly from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 750M, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 300M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Approaching the 1000 Metres was taken wider by CIRCUIT MAXIMUS which shifted out when being corrected by its rider. After the event, J McDonald stated that the instructions were to hold a forward position, however, JOLLY RULER raced wide and without cover for the majority of the race and as a result gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide in midfield, 4 lengths back, there to turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong. (Bled.)

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by PATCH OF TIME which shifted in after being bumped by NOBLE FANS. After the event, A Atzeni reported that when he felt there may be something amiss with his mount in the Home Straight he eased it down from the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SPORTIC WARRIOR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SPORTIC WARRIOR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
