In the Home Straight lay in and near the 150 Metres raced tight to the outside of EXCEL WONGCHOY which shifted out slightly when giving ground. After the event, K C Leung reported that his instructions were to endeavour to obtain a midfield position with cover. He said in the early stages when caught wide he was obliged to settle towards the back of the field to comply with his instructions. He said SILVER KING then relaxed underneath him and as a result he was obliged to make use of his mount to maintain his position. Trainer F C Lor confirmed the instructions issued.

After the event, M Chadwick reported that with the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time BOWSER raced keenly and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres. When giving ground near the 250 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by LUCKY TOUCH which shifted in slightly. The performance of BRILLIANT FIRE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BRILLIANT FIRE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Was examined upon arrival at the Start, was found to be lame in its right front leg and was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY DAILY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
