Began well, raced better than midfield, 2 wide, outpaced halfway, eased early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Near the 350 Metres shifted out to obtain clear running and made contact with OUTGATE. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly from a wide draw, raced at tail, 5 to 6 lengths back on turn, made no impression in straight.

Jumped only fairly. Near the 400 Metres improved into a tight run between OUTGATE and TOURBILLON PRINCE and as a result made contact with TOURBILLON PRINCE for some distance thereafter. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped well, raced in midfield, 3 to 4 wide, dropped towards rear 450M, failed to make any progress in straight.

Incident Report
Bounded on jumping and lost ground. Shortly after the start was then eased when crowded between FANTASTIC TREASURE and SUNLIGHT POWER. Near the 800 Metres was steadied away from YOUNG CHAMPION when racing tight to the inside of SUNLIGHT POWER. Passing the 400 Metres was disappointed for clear running between DANCING CODE and TOURBILLON PRINCE and as a result made contact with DANCING CODE. JOHANNES BRAHMS was then held up for clear running until near the 200 Metres when it improved into a tight run between YOUNG CHAMPION and TOURBILLON PRINCE.

Began only fairly, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off well to take a place.

Bumped near the 50 Metres. After the event, L Hewitson stated the intention was to hold a more forward position. He said when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to restrain his mount to settle at the rear of the field to avoid racing wide.

Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier, raced prominently on the inside, shared lead on turn, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner late.

Crowded shortly after start, raced towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some headway in straight. (Lame right front leg next day.)

In the early and middle stages raced keenly and was left racing wide and without cover from the 900 Metres. Near the 400 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters and as a result shifted out. Near the 50 Metres was bumped by PACKING HERMOD which shifted in.

Jumped well from a wide draw, took the lead, shared lead with rivals on turn, peaked and headed early in straight, weakened final 300M.

Began well, raced slightly better than midfield, 3 wide, similar position on turn, one-paced in the run home.

Over the final 450 Metres was held up for clear running and as a result could not be fully ridden out to the finish of the event.

Jumped with them, sent forward to race prominently, shared lead on turn, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped on jumping. Near the 400 Metres C L Chau dropped his left rein for a number of strides. After the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by DANCING CODE (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted out. Near the 250 Metres SUNLIGHT POWER was eased when crowded between PACKING HERMOD and DANCING CODE which continued to shift out. Apprentice Wong was reprimanded. After being shifted to the inside of DANCING CODE near the 200 Metres then became held up for clear running between TOURBILLON PRINCE and DANCING CODE which shifted back in. As a result, SUNLIGHT POWER could not be ridden out for the remainder of the event.

Jumped with them, raced slightly behind midfield, 4 lengths back on turn, made some progress in straight.

Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 350 Metres was bumped by RUBYLOT and taken wider when RUBYLOT shifted to the outside of SING DRAGON to obtain clear running.

Taken back to race towards rear on the outside, 4 to 5 lengths back on turn, very wide into straight, finished off very strongly to score by a neck.
