Taken back from a wide draw, raced at tail, 8 lengths or so back, very wide turning in, made no impression in straight.

On jumping was bumped by ENCOUNTERED which shifted out. Approaching the 1400 Metres raced in restricted room between WOODFIRE BRO and THE GOLDEN SCENERY and commenced to race fiercely. As a result, MOMENTS IN TIME was then checked to avoid STAR CONTACT for some distance thereafter when it refused to settle. Raced keenly through the early and middle stages and as a result was allowed to stride forward near the 800 Metres to take up a position outside the lead. Sent for sampling post-race.

Taken back from gate 12, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept to inside after straightening and finished off evenly.

Near the 600 Metres was steadied to avoid MOMENTS IN TIME (H Bowman) which shifted in when not clear. H Bowman was advised to exercise more care.

Jumped well, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, same position on turn, peaked and raced tight early in straight, ran on evenly to the line.

Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two late.

Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when racing in restricted room between MONEY CATCHER and WOODFIRE BRO. After the event, A Pouchin stated that the instructions were to hold a forward position but not necessarily lead. He said in the early stages when caught wide and when the pace of the race was run outside of standard time he elected to allow THE GOLDEN SCENERY to stride forward and settle outside the early leader FLAMINGO TRILLION.

Jumped only fairly. Near the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of THE GOLDEN SCENERY to obtain clear running. Approaching the 150 Metres became held up for clear running when disappointed between MONEY CATCHER and STAR CONTACT and as a result could not be fully ridden out to the finish of the event.
