Away well, raced 2 wide in midfield, 5 lengths back turning in, made some progress in straight.

Proved difficult to load into the starting gates. Before being allowed to race again, CHILLI BABA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. Jumped only fairly. Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider L Ferraris changing his whip to his right hand near the 50 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide slightly behind midfield, angled out 550M, 5-1/2L back turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame without threatening.

From the 450 Metres to the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened and eased inside final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by CHATEAU LE PECHE which shifted out. Near the 50 Metres was taken in slightly.

Jumped well, raced in 2nd, a length or so back, same position on turn, finished off evenly.

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by TURTLE AGAIN which was taken in by GOLDEN FAIRY. Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres was badly held up for clear running.

Quickly into stride, raced in 3rd, 2 wide, 1 to 2 lengths back turning in, hit the front 250M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Had its left front plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

Jumped with them, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/2L turning in, peaked and headed 250M, weakened final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Taken back from gate 10, raced 2 wide at rear, 7 lengths back, same margin back on turn, passed some tired runners in straight.

Approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of GOLDEN FAIRY. After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount travelled well in the event but after obtaining clear running near the 300 Metres responded only fairly to his riding and gave ground over the concluding stages. Trainer T P Yung advised that TURTLE AGAIN had pleased him leading into today’s race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of TURTLE AGAIN was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, TURTLE AGAIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Away with them, positioned 5 lengths behind the leader on the inside, 2 wide after passing 500M, same margin back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened inside final furlong.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. The performance of MARIO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MARIO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Average to begin, raced better than midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back turning in, finished off well to take 2nd. (Lost left front plate after the race.)
