Taken back from gate 13, raced 3 wide with cover behind midfield, a bit closer on turn, closed off well to take a place without threatening the first two.

Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 200 Metres shifted out, resulting in its rider Y L Chung having to stop riding and straighten his mount.

Shortly after the start was bumped. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on JOLLY JUMPER at the request of Trainer T P Yung. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.

Bumped start, took the early lead, headed 1150M, positioned 1 out 1 back in the middle stages, angled out 500M, retook the lead 300M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Approaching the 1100 Metres was bumped by BEAR CHAMP which, after improving to the inside of KA YING ATTACK, was then taken in slightly by that runner. Near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from WORLD HERO. CASHISCASH continued to race keenly throughout the middle stages.

Crowded shortly after start, raced at rear, 8 lengths back in the middle stages, commenced move 550M, very wide into straight, made no progress in the run home.

Jumped only fairly and shortly after blundered, resulting in its rider L Ferraris becoming unbalanced. Lay in in the Home Straight and for some distance near the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind JOLLY JUMPER.

Began only fairly, raced towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, no clear run until final 100M, kept on same pace to the line.

Bumped on jumping. After the event, Z Purton reported that his mount would appreciate being stepped up in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped shortly after start, tracked leaders on the inside, saved ground on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared after passing 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and became unbalanced. Near the 100 Metres shifted to the outside of STORM RUNNER to continue into clear running.

Moderately away from the widest draw, raced in midfield on the outside, moved a bit closer after passing 750M, 2 lengths or so back turning in, finished off well to take 2nd, always just held.

Approaching the 400 Metres raced in restricted room between SOMELOVEFROMABOVE which shifted out slightly and ETALON OR which shifted in. Near the 300 Metres raced tight between CALIFORNIA MOXIE and BEAR CHAMP, both of which shifted ground slightly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Slowly away, raced at rear on the outside, very wide into straight, made some progress early in straight, no extra final 150M.

After the event, A Atzeni stated that when he was concerned there may be something amiss with his mount in the Home Straight, he eased it down from the race when not in a competitive position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, BEAR CHAMP will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
