Made contact at start, raced prominently, 3 wide, took the lead 1150M, led by a length in the middle stages, peaked early in straight, headed 200M, weakened gradually final 150M.

M Chadwick was questioned in relation to his riding out over the concluding stages. He agreed with the Stewards that in retrospect he had desisted from riding his mount out too soon. He was advised that at all times he should ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race so that he does not compromise his placing in the field. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped well, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, a length back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually final 150M.

Jumped awkwardly and then bumped with U S S CONSTITUTION. Making the Home Turn near the 400 Metres became unbalanced when improving into a tight run to the inside of GLUCK RACER. Sent for sampling post-race.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at tail, saved ground on turn, made good progress in straight to take a place, no threat to the first two.

After the event, H Bowman confirmed his instructions were to lead the event. He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages it failed to show sufficient pace to do so. He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to obtain a trailing position behind FOREMOST TEDDY and as a result SUPER BABY settled further back than had been intended.

Moderately away, raced behind midfield on the inside, angled out approaching 400M, slightly hampered 350M, very wide into straight, made no impression in straight.

Slowly away, raced towards rear on the inside, 2 wide from 850M, angled out 350M, very wide into straight, finished off very strongly to take 2nd, nearest on line.

Near the 1500 Metres was steadied to avoid VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (M Chadwick) which shifted in when not quite clear. M Chadwick was advised to exercise more care. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when placed in restricted room between SMART CITY and SUPER BABY which shifted in slightly. After the event, Z Purton stated that his instructions were to settle his mount where comfortable. He said in the early stages he was obliged to make some use of his mount to cross U S S CONSTITUTION which resulted in STRONGEST BOY having to be ridden slightly more forward than what he had anticipated. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Away with them, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield, commenced move 450M, made little progress early in straight, no extra final 200M.

Began awkwardly, raced 2 wide behind midfield, a bit closer on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

After the event, J McDonald reported that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the race and as a result did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
