Began well from gate 1, raced towards rear on the inside, 8 lengths back turning in, made no impression in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Began smartly from the widest draw, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L on turn, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed approaching 150M, weakened final 100M.

After the 300 Metres made contact with APOLAR FIGHTER when it was attempting a tight run to the outside of SURE JOYFUL. Noted to have been galloped on the left hind cannon after the race. After the event, an endoscopic examination was conducted on KIMBERLEY at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, KIMBERLEY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Away well, raced slightly behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, unable to obtain clear run in straight.

Noted to have sustained a minor abrasion to the right hock, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start. Raced wide and without cover until the 700 Metres. Bumped after the 300 Metres.

Made contact with the left side of its barrier on jumping and lost ground, raced at tail, 8 lengths back turning in, made very good progress in straight to make frame.

After being crossed by WAH MAY WAI WAI near the 1300 Metres commenced to race keenly and was shifted to the outside of WAH MAY WAI WAI to avoid that runner’s heels. After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount raced too keenly in the early stages and as a consequence was left without a finishing effort. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Moderately away, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, no clear run near 150M, cleared 75M, ran on evenly, short of run close home.

Shortly after the start was crowded by APOLAR FIGHTER which shifted in slightly.

Bumped start, raced in midfield on the outside, no cover for the majority of the race, finished off strongly to take 2nd, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Taken wider after the 1300 Metres. After the event, K Teetan stated that his mount did not travel well during the running of the race and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
