When caught wide and without cover in the early stages was allowed to stride forward and obtain a position outside the lead approaching the 1000 Metres.

Severely checked shortly after start, raced behind midfield on the inside, 3 lengths or so back, saved ground on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared 150M, finished off well to make frame without threatening.

After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount is better suited on the Sha Tin track and this was the main reason for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began only fairly, raced at tail, 6-1/2L back, saved ground on turn, failed to close off in straight.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, L Hewitson stated that in accordance with its usual racing pattern from wide barriers, he was asked to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He added that in the Home Straight HAPPY HERO did not respond to his riding and was somewhat disappointing. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Commenced well, positioned 2 wide, a length or so back, there to turn, closed off well to take 2nd. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Whilst being saddled fell over and took some time to regain its feet. Acting on veterinary advice that INTREPID WINNER was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, INTREPID WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Samples were taken from the horse.
