Bumped shortly after start, positioned 1 to 2 lengths behind the leader, 3 away from the stands' rail, hard ridden after passing 400M, kept on well to take 2nd.

Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 1000 Metres was eased to avoid HE WAS ME (A Atzeni) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care. H Bowman stated that when the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time his mount held a more forward position than he had anticipated.

Average to begin, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L at 400M, peaked and headed 150M, ran on evenly to the line. (See Racing Incidents.)

After being crossed by EXCEED THE WISH approaching the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly and then raced tight to the inside of FIGHT TIME for a short distance thereafter.

C L Chau was fined the sum of $20,000 in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on two occasions near the 200 Metres.

Bumped start, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader on the stands' side, hard ridden from 300M, finished off evenly.

Jumped well, raced slightly better than midfield early, dropped towards rear in the middle stages, kept on evenly to the line.

Throughout the early and middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1000 Metres got its head up when awkwardly placed between CASA LEGEND and GALE SAGA. L Ferraris stated that his mount settled back in the field and in the Home Straight he was satisfied with the horse’s finishing effort. L Ferraris was severe reprimand for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 200 Metres.

Bumped on jumping, raced in midfield, nearer to the middle track, commenced move after passing 350M, hit the front 150M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Slow to begin. Near the 350 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of THE CONCENTRATION to continue into clear running.

Out with rest, raced at rear on the stands' side, made good progress final 400M to take a place.

M L Yeung reported that the instructions were to find a position back in the field with cover. He said throughout the early stages SMART ENGINEER raced keenly as he endeavoured to comply with those instructions. He added as a result he was obliged to allow the horse to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground. He said after crossing HE WAS ME near the 800 Metres his mount raced too keenly in the lead and set a faster pace than he would have liked.

Moderately away from gate 14, raced in midfield on the stands' rail, crowded near 450M, one-paced final 400M.

Approaching the 900 Metres raced keenly when positioned tight to the inside of BLING BLING GENIUS. Between the 400 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running.

Slightly slow out and made contact, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

B Avdulla stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 200 Metres M Chadwick dropped his right rein and rode the horse to the finish without the use of the rein. M Chadwick reported that his mount was one-paced when under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped on jumping, raced behind midfield on the middle track, made some progress after passing 300M, peaked on run 150M, weakened gradually close home.
