Approaching the 300 Metres improved to the outside of CORLEONE. A short distance later CORLEONE lay out, resulting in it making contact with SAMARKAND near the 250 Metres and taking SAMARKAND wider. Sent for sampling post-race.

Approaching the 150 Metres was bumped by SILVERY BREEZE when that runner was shifted to the inside of CORLEONE to obtain clear running. A Atzeni was warned for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 200 Metres.

E C W Wong stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to go forward and lead. He added that, in his opinion, CORLEONE raced best when able to obtain a position with cover as it did at its most recent win on 4 February 2026.
