Began smartly from gate 9, took the early lead, headed near 800M, a length back on turn, showed some response early in straight, peaked on run 150M, weakened gradually final 100M.

Incident Report
Near the 300 Metres lay in towards KINGLY DEMEANOR. When being corrected to avoid KINGLY DEMEANOR, DOUBLE WIN shifted out and made contact with SHARPEN BRIGHT approaching the 250 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began awkwardly and lost ground, raced at tail, 7 lengths or so back on turn, angled out early in straight, made contact near 200M, made very good progress final 100M to be nearest on line.

Began well from a wide draw, positioned 2 wide, 1-1/2L back, carried wider turning in, showed very good response in straight, hit the front 150M, kept on strongly to the line, won comfortably.

Near the 500 Metres was steadied when crowded between MISSION STRIKE which shifted out slightly and MANAGEMENT FOLKS which was racing tight to the inside of VIVA TASTE which shifted in as it was giving ground. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running. H Bentley advised that he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages from the outside barrier. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions and said such instructions were issued to offset the outside barrier.

Slightly slow out and crowded, raced 2 wide towards rear, 5 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame.

Near the 250 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by DOUBLE WIN.

Began only fairly from a wide draw, raced behind midfield on the outside, 4 to 5 lengths back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, made contact near 200M, eased thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly. After being held up for clear running on the Home Turn was then steadied and shifted to the inside of DOUBLE WIN approaching the 300 Metres to obtain clear running. Between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of KINGLY DEMEANOR.

Bumped start, raced 3 wide in midfield, no cover throughout, very wide turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually final 100M.

Bumped on jumping. Z Purton reported that in the Home Straight his mount finished the race off in a one-paced manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Began well from the widest draw, sent forward to race prominently on the outside, took the lead near 800M, led by a length turning in, peaked and headed 150M, weakened final 100M.

Bumped on jumping. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on MISSION STRIKE at the request of Trainer M Newnham. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MISSION STRIKE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Bumped shortly after start, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground throughout, kept on well in straight to take a place without threatening.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped well, positioned 2 wide slightly better than midfield, angled out 350M, finished off well to take 2nd without threatening the winner.

L Ferraris reported that his mount lay in throughout the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a mild abrasion to the left hind leg.
