A Badel (GLORY CLOUD) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that leaving the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of LEGEND STAR, resulting in LEGEND STAR having to be checked. A Badel was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 17 December 2025 and to expire on Sunday, 21 December 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well, raced in midfield on the outside, improved after 450M, very wide turning in, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 50M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner late.

Sent for sampling post-race. <1/12/2025 Appeal – Jockey Alexis Badel>Jockey Alexis Badel has lodged a notice of appeal against the severity of the penalties imposed by the Racing Stewards on 26 November 2025 for the charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)].The Stewards of the Jockey Club have granted a suspension of the penalties imposed on Jockey Badel pending determination of his appeal. <15/12/2025 Withdrawal of Appeal – Jockey Alexis Badel> Jockey Alexis Badel has submitted an application to withdraw his appeal against the severity of the penalties imposed by the Racing Stewards on 26 November 2025 to suspend him from riding in races for two charges of careless riding [Rule 100 (1)] when he rode GLORY CLOUD in Race 1 and TACTICAL COMMAND in Race 3 that evening. The Appeal Panel has approved Jockey Badel’s application and he will serve the original suspensions imposed by the Racing Stewards on 26 November 2025. He will be suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday 17 December 2025 and to expire on Sunday 21 December 2025 (2 Hong Kong racedays), and for another period to commence on Tuesday 23 December 2025 and to expire on Sunday 28 December 2025 (2 Hong Kong racedays).

Jumped well from the widest draw, sent forward to take the lead, 2 wide, found rail near 500M, led by 1-1/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two final 50M.

H Bentley reported that when his mount commenced well from the outside barrier he elected to ride it forward to lead and as a consequence SONIC BOOM settled more forward than intended.

Bumped on the hindquarters at the start, raced better than midfield on the outside, steadied near 1050M, positioned 2 wide, 2-1/2L back in the middle stages, carried wider 450M, kept on well until final 50M, ran on evenly to the line.

Bumped on the hindquarters at the start. Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid ALWAYS MY FOLKS. Passing the 500 Metres was bumped and taken wider by JOYFUL TREASURE which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.

Moderately away from a wide draw, raced towards rear on the outside, commenced move approaching 500M, very wide turning in, made good progress in straight without threatening.

On jumping shifted out, made contact with GLORIOUS EXPERT and as a consequence lost ground. Making the first turn got its head up and became unbalanced. Near the 500 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from BRILLIANT FIRE. Approaching the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted to the inside of ALWAYS MY FOLKS to obtain clear running. Near the 50 Metres made contact with BRILLIANT FIRE due to both runners shifting ground.

Bumped start, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on rail, difficult to settle early, 2Ls or so back in the middle stages, angled out 450M, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually final 100M. (Lame left hind leg.)

Passing the 1100 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight between BEAUTY FORMULA which shifted out slightly and ALWAYS MY FOLKS which lay in and made contact with JOYFUL TREASURE despite the efforts of its rider. Near the 900 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied when racing tight to the inside of ALWAYS MY FOLKS when that runner was crowded by SONIC BOOM (H Bentley) which shifted in. H Bentley was reprimanded. Shifted out passing the 500 Metres and was bumped. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, JOYFUL TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Began only fairly, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened gradually final 100M.

Jumped only fairly. Briefly held up making the Home Turn. Near the 50 Metres made contact with EVER SMART due to both runners shifting ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped start, raced prominently early, positioned 1 out 1 back in the middle stages, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.) (Blood in trachea.)

Lay in passing the 1100 Metres and made contact with JOYFUL TREASURE. Approaching the 1000 Metres briefly raced tight to the inside of SONIC BOOM before SONIC BOOM was corrected by its rider. Leaving the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid SONIC BOOM (H Bentley) which shifted in. H Bentley was reprimanded. K Teetan stated that after his mount was crowded in the early stages it did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ALWAYS MY FOLKS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Began awkwardly, taken back to race at tail, 6 lengths or so back on turn, made no impression in straight.
