Began well, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length, travelled well to turn, peaked and headed 200M, weakened final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Held up on the Home Turn. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped well, raced 3 wide in midfield, no cover after entering the back straight, moved closer after passing 600M, showed good response early in straight, took the lead 200M, peaked and headed 150M, weakened gradually close home.

Shortly after the start was bumped and became unbalanced. Near the 1700 Metres was ridden along to attempt to hold its position between JUMBO LEGEND and CHILL CHIBI, both of which shifted ground slightly. Passing the 200 Metres the whip of K Teetan was knocked from his grasp by the whip of Apprentice E C W Wong, rider of JUMBO LEGEND.

Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground throughout, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Average to begin, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, angled out approaching 300M, showed very good response in straight, hit the front 150M, kept on very strongly to the line.

Raced keenly approaching the first turn near the 1300 Metres. After the event H Bentley stated that the intention was to hold an on-pace position. He said in the early stages when caught wide and unable to find cover he elected to shift his mount in from a wide barrier to obtain cover which resulted in LO RIDER settling further back than intended. He added that in the Home Straight LO RIDER finished the race off only fairly from back in the field. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the intention was to hold a more forward position. He added in the early stages he was satisfied that Jockey Bentley had obtained a position back in the field as LO RIDER has a tendency to race keenly when ridden along in the early stages. He said the only explanation he could offer was that LO RIDER was not suited by having to be ridden in this manner in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Crowded start, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, unable to obtain clear run until approaching final 100M, made minor progress thereafter.

Made contact shortly after start, raced towards rear on the outside, very wide turning in, made good progress in straight to take 2nd, no threat to the winner.

Bumped at the start. After the event H Bowman stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover but failed to respond to his riding from the 500 Metres. He added when not in a competitive position in the Home Straight he eased his mount down from the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg. The performance of CHILL CHIBI, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CHILL CHIBI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
