Led early, headed 1000m out, remained prominent, under pressure to chase leaders 500m out, flattened out final 100m.
Moderately away from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on well early in straight, peaked 200M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)
Shifted in and bumped leaving stalls, raced in touch with leaders, effort top of home straight, one paced under pressure.
Taken back to race 3 wide with cover behind midfield, angled out 500M, made no impression in straight.
Average to begin, raced prominently on the outside, 1/2L back turning in, hit the front 300M, kept on well to the line and scored.
Taken back from gate 12, raced at rear, 6 lengths or so back turning in, no clear run early in straight, found daylight 150M, finished off well to take 2nd.
Jumped well from gate 13, sent forward to take the lead on the stands' rail, hard ridden approaching 300M but only showed limited response, headed 250M, kept on evenly to take a place.

TORONADO, a son of HIGH CHAPARRAL and the former Al Shaqab Racing runner, with a record of 6 wins and 3 seconds in 12 starts while Richard Hughes as his regular jockey, winning distance from 1300M to 1600M. He remained unbeaten when he was 2 until being ran down by DAWN APPROACH in 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes under the care of Richard Hannon Sr., but he fought back in Sussex Stakes afterwards. He landed Queen Anne Stakes for trainer Richard Hannon as a 5YO. After that, he made his move to Breeders' Cup Mile but failed. He entered stud in 2015, 44 runners of him won the black type contests and his service fee in 2025 is AUD$ 88,000. The stallion has been suspended from his duties which he suffered a significant infection, which in turn has caused him lameness. MAJESTIC VALOUR was trained by Alex Oliveira in New Zealand and took part in an 800M trial (3rd Apr 2025) where he sat handy early and ran on well to win under urge on soft going. His dam MARGIELA got her sole success in a 1300M synthetic race at Geelong while 6 of her racing foals with 2 could win that up to 1800M. The brown gelding should be most suited from 1400M to 1600M and fine on dirt.
