Results
Sluggish start, showed great speed to lead, headed 400m out, flattened out final 200m.
Shifted out and bumped leaving stalls, tracked leaders, short of room in home straight until 100m out, lost all chance.
Prominent briefly from a wide barrier but soon taken well back approaching first bend, produced good impression under pressure in home straight, made no further impression inside the 100M.
Moderately away from a wide draw, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield, similar position on turn, failed to close off in straight.
Began only fairly, raced at rear, 7 lengths or so back in the middle stages, made good progress final 400M without threatening.
Bumped shortly after start and unbalanced, positioned a length or so back, 3 away from the stands' rail, hard ridden after passing 300M but only showed limited response, weakened final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)
Began well from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length turning in, kept on well in straight to hold off the challenger.

ZOUSAIN was trained by Chris Waller with 2 wins and 5 seconds in 13 starts, winning distance at 1000M and 1200M including 2YO 1200 G2 Champagne Classic at Doomben, 2nd in Sires' Produce Stakes and J. J. Atkins Stakes. He took part in G1 Golden Rose Stakes at age 3 where he was beaten by THE AUTUMN SUN under James McDonald and denied by same sire runner SUNLIGHT in Ascot Vale Stakes (Coolmore Stud Stakes). The son of ZOUSTAR joined the stallion roaster of Widden Stud after retiring from racing with 3 black type contest winners. His fee in 2025 is AUD$ 27,500. MABUBU was owned by Price Bloodstock Management Ltd that under Allan & Jason Williams’ yard in Australia. He took part in 3 jump outs and 5 barrier trials where he ran on a 5th and two 2nd on his first 3 trials in 2024, he put on blinkers on his 4th trial at 1000M (3rd Feb 2025) where he taken back early and made some ground for 3rd on soft going, then led all the way to win a 1200M section (24th Feb 2025) on good going. Same sire runners are precocious sprinter while his dam FURIOSA was place-getter at 1400M and her off-spring won at 1600M. Being a grandson of MORE THAN READY, the bay gelding should be fine on dirt and most suited from 1200M to 1600M.
