Began well, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader, a bit closer on turn, finished off strongly to score by a nose.

Close to the finish was bumped by HELENE FEELING which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.

Fast into stride, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner on line.

Moderately away, raced in 4th, saved ground on turn, angled out early in straight, finished off evenly.

Held up making the Home Turn. Lay in in the Home Straight and near the 100 Metres raced in restricted room between WOODFIRE BRO and C P BRAVE which shifted in slightly.

Passing the 100 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters by NIMBLE NIMBUS when that runner was racing tight to the inside of C P BRAVE.

Average to begin, raced in midfield early, slightly improved after passing 700M, 3/4L back turning in, kept on well in straight to take a place.

After the event, B Avdulla reported that his instructions were to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages with cover. He said in the early stages THE GOLDEN SCENERY was caught wide and when racing keenly he allowed it to stride forward to obtain a position outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground.

Taken back to race at rear, 4 lengths or so back turning in, finished off well without threatening.

After the event, K Teetan stated that his mount came under pressure making the Home Turn and then failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and was disappointing. Trainer D J Hall advised that ENCOUNTERED had pleased him leading into tonight’s event. He said ENCOUNTERED may not have been suited by racing in an on-pace position and may be suited by being stepped up in distance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
