Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between MA COMET and RUBY SAILING which shifted out and away from VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE after being taken out by that runner.

Hung out making the turn after the 600 Metres. After the 50 Metres was disappointed for clear running between MA COMET and HAPPY TANGO, resulting in SIGHT HAPPY having to be steadied and shifted to the outside of HAPPY TANGO to continue into clear running.

Shifted out abruptly on jumping, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L, travelled comfortably to turn, kept on well to the line and scored.

Made contact shortly after start, unable to slot in, raced 4 wide better than midfield, no cover throughout, very wide into straight, peaked early in straight, one-paced thereafter.

When questioned, Z Purton stated that over the concluding stages his mount, when under pressure, shifted in and away from HAPPY TANGO and as a result, when awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE, he elected to steady his mount. He added that, in his opinion, MA COMET may derive benefit from today’s performance as it had been approximately 6 weeks since its last race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

After the event, H Bowman stated that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount responded satisfactorily to his riding and he was not too disappointed with the performance of the horse. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
