Out with rest, positioned 4-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, commenced move near 500M, showed very good response in straight, took the lead approaching 100M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Near the 700 Metres shifted in and made contact with SHINYU KOKOROE. J Moreira reported that his mount never travelled at any stage of the event and was under continued pressure to maintain its position. He added despite continuing to urge NO OTHER CHOICE along his mount then failed to run on in the Home Straight. Trainer C Fownes could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance, however, advised that he would now consider stepping NO OTHER CHOICE up in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A Badel stated that from his wide barrier he was obliged to settle further back in the field than intended. He said this, coupled with carrying top weight of 135 lbs, were the principal reasons for NOBLE DELUXE not being able to finish its race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Near the 700 Metres was tightened for room after being bumped by NO OTHER CHOICE which shifted in.

Jumped with them, raced towards rear on the outside, 7 to 8 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Making the turn near the 700 Metres NO OTHER CHOICE (J Moreira) shifted in, making contact with SHINYU KOKOROE which was then taken in, resulting in BINGO BABE being crowded and checked when it was also reluctant to hold its position at that stage. J Moreira was severely reprimanded. M F Poon stated that his mount never travelled at any stage at the rear of the field and after receiving interference near the 700 Metres failed to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
