Commenced well, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, travelled well to turn, challenged the leader after turning in, hit the front 100M, kept on well to the line and scored. (Blood in trachea.)

After the race an endoscopic examination was conducted on ALWAYS MY FOLKS at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ALWAYS MY FOLKS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began smartly from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, travelled comfortably to turn, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner final 100M.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 400 Metres was steadied when held up for clear running behind LUCKY GENERATIONS. As a result TAIHANG SCENERY was held up until near the 300 Metres when it was shifted to the inside of LUCKY GENERATIONS to secure clear running. E C W Wong was severely reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides passing the 200 Metres.

After the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid RUN YES RUN. J Moreira reported that his mount did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a more forward position and finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced 2 wide towards rear, 4 lengths or so back turning in, finished off evenly.
