Incident Report
Approaching the 900 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. Approaching the 200 Metres H Bentley dropped his left rein for a short distance. Lay in in the Home Straight, resulting in its rider H Bentley pulling his whip through to his right hand approaching the 100 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back, commenced move 800M, took the lead near 700M, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner close home.

Shifted in abruptly on jumping. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from gate 1, sat right behind the leader on rail early, dropped to midfield in the middle stages, saved ground throughout, kept on well early in straight, weakened final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Reared as stalls opened and started slowly, raced behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide after entering the back straight, 4 lengths back on turn, very wide into straight, one-paced in the run home. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly. Noted to have blood in its mouth after the race.

Taken back to race at rear on the outside, 5 lengths back, found rail near 550M, saved ground on turn, angled out 350M, one-paced in the run home. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount lay out throughout the race but failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. The performance of ACE TALENT was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, ACE TALENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Clean jump, sent forward to take the lead, headed near 700M, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on turn, finished off evenly.

Approaching the 900 Metres raced in restricted room between DOUBLE SHOW and GOOD VIEW GLORY which lay out despite the efforts of its rider.

Taken back to race at rear on the inside, moved a bit closer after passing 800M, 3 to 4 lengths back in the middle stages, commenced move 550M, very wide turning in, closed off well to take a place, no threat to the first two.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began smartly, sent forward to race prominently, 2 wide, 3/4L back turning in, finished off well to score by a head.
