BRAVE SMASH was owned by Takaya Shimakawa and trained by Michihiro Ogasa at the beginning while 2nd in 1400M G3 Falcon Stakes was his best placing among Japanese group level as he made no surprise in G1 NHK Mile Cup and Japanese Derby. He made his way to Australia and joined Darren Weir’s yard to lift G1 Futurity Stakes over 1400M in 2018 and 2nd in Newmarket Handicap, then he finished 2nd in Moir Stakes and notched G1 Manikato Stakes under Hugh Bowman. He joined Kris Lees stable on his concluding stages of racing career and finished 3rd in Newmarket Handicap. The colt recorded 5 wins, 8 seconds and 6 thirds in 34 starts, winning distance from 1200M to 1600M. He joined the stallion roaster of Yarraman Park with 5 black type contest winners and his fee in 2026was AUD$22,000. STAR OF HEARTS was trained by Tony Pike in New Zealand and took part in 2 barrier trials where he dashed well along mid-track to win an 800M trial (23rd Jan 2025) by racing handy on soft going, then sat on-pace early and ran on well to win a 900M section (25th Mar 2025) under urge on soft going. His sire, BRAVE SMASH hails from Japan, while his dam HALMICH was bred in Australia but belongs to a family predominantly composed of American racehorses. The bay gelding should be most suited from 1200M to 1400M and fine in both turf and dirt.
